Recently on campus, I've noticed a war being waged between those who think you can listen to Christmas music in November, and those who think you need to wait until after Thanksgiving. What is your view, readers?
Me, personally, I think it is never too early to start thinking about Christmas. I think half the fun of Christmas comes from the anticipation. I also really love the feeling you get when listening to Christmas music, so I have a couple of Christmas songs that live on my iPod year round, so I can have that special feeling at random moments throughout the year. But I can understand wanting to wait; some people feel it detracts from Thanksgiving, one of the more spiritual and commonly overlooked holidays. Maybe it's because turkeys aren't as cute as reindeer. I think that Christmas and Thanksgiving go hand in hand, so I feel that Christmas music can lend to the spirit of Thanksgiving too.
So, what's your position dear readers? Should you wait until after the last bit of cranberry sauce is gone? or do you take off your Halloween costume and turn up the Christmas tunes?
Love and Sparkles,
Kayla
Also, as a side note, What is your favorite thing to listen to for Christmas? For me, it's Josh Groban and Michael Buble.
Heh heh... When I can get away with it, I listen to Christmas music in July.
ReplyDeleteHonestly, I think if we had more "Thanksgiving music", it would be better to play that during the month of November, but we don't, and Halloween kinda starts the holiday season.
